edit(1): I have received a critique from too but he is not a pm so he can't post a critique here. But think its a good critique so I post it here in artist description.:
Vision (4 star): I read in one of the comments that you made this along the lines of snakes loving squirrels, for lunch one would assume but also perhaps in other ways for these human analogs. In that sense the picture represents a strong view or idea, that of hunger in all its various meanings.
Originality (2 star): I don't know enough about the game to say whether this is an original work, for all I know you traced the image from the box art. But I doubt it. What I do know is that the art doesn't really pop out at me, it's good but a little bit ordinary. Also it's from a game with, I assume, well-established and characterized characters, so I can't give that high of a score here.
Technique (3 star): Like I mention above, the art is kind of ordinary. It's far better than I could do, but I've seen enough art to know you could do much better after more practice. For example, I have no idea whether the lines above her eyes are representing fright in the anime style, or just her hair, or perhaps the shadow from her hair. Also, the snake character seems to be less standing behind her and more growing out from the back of her neck. On the other hand, and speaking of hands, I've heard hands are hard to draw but you do quite well with his. I also like the way her hair goes from that crayon-like lines to a more uniform color near the tips, although shouldn't be the other way around?
Impact (3 star): The emotional content helps the picture stand out to me, her fright and his hunger, and the thick pink line around the two helps them stand out, and the neon green hair and eyes definitely has an impact on me … but there's also a certain amount of blandness to the picture. The pink line makes them stand out, but there's no background for them to stand out from. Also the picture is kind of soft, by which I mean … not very sharp? There's a general softness to the whole thing, probably has something to do with the crayon-like coloring, or the less prominent line-work. Some thicker line-work would help the most I think.
Well it makes sense on the premise of a snake and his prey. Though I think a different sort of 'eating' will commence for them, on the floor, without clothes.
You know what. I like how bright the green is. Then again, I do fancy that shade of green. I have never played this blazblue game before though. How is it?
